Course Overview

CompTIA Server+ is a global certification that validates the hands-on skills of IT professionals who install, manage and troubleshoot servers in data centers as well as on-premise and hybrid environments.

CompTIA Server+ is the only certification that can ensure that IT professionals at the administrator level are able to do the job in any environment because it is the only certification not restricted to a single platform. The exam covers essential hardware and software technologies of on-premise and hybrid server environments including high availability, cloud computing and scripting. The new exam includes performance-based questions that require the candidate to demonstrate multi-step knowledge to securely deploy, administer and troubleshoot servers.

CompTIA Server+ now features flexible training options including self-paced learning, live online training, custom training and labs to advance the career development of IT professionals in server administration.

Course Objectives

The Server+ Certification Study Guide will teach you technical skills needed to install, manage and troubleshoot servers in data centers as well as on-premise and hybrid environments. It will prepare you to take the CompTIA Server+ SK0-005 exam by providing 100% coverage of the objectives and content examples listed on the syllabus.

The course covers the server lifecycle in the following themes:

- - Server, virtualization, and security concepts
  - Managing physical assets, server hardware, and storage configuration
  - Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a server operating system
  - Managing data security, service and data availability, and decommissioning servers

In addition, increased focus has been placed on the needs of virtualization in systems administration, and troubleshooting is covered throughout the course.

Prerequisites

To ensure your success in your course you should have 18 to 24 months of hands-on experience with installation, configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of PC hardware and network operating system issues. It is also recommended that you have the CompTIA A+ certification or the equivalent training and experience.

J. Chaney came to JBPHH, HI to instruct us for the SEC+ cert. We attended class Monday thru Friday, and tested. J taught us more than what was on the certification test, and he was available to answer all of our questions. I couldn't have passed the cert without his expertise.

This Security+ certification Boot Camp was PERFECT! When I took the class, I had zero background or experience in this Networking & Security+ arena. The class I took was led by J Chaney. He has expertly took me from a very nervous and clueless student to a confident student. I felt self-assured to take the certification exam. Could you have You-Tubed all the info? Yes, but that just memorization not comprehension. The instructor J made all of it digestible by his use personalization's of the content. Personalizations of the content helped bring this highly complex and technical data into bite-sized chunks, not everyone can do "it". J Chaney has the “It” effect, it is those intangibles that separate a good from great instructor. He can easily assess your level of understanding and customize "it" to you. Attention newbies: If you were worried about taking Security+, take this class with J Chaney with Applied Technology Academy.

J Chaney is highly knowledgeable and explains course material in a very comprehensive way. It is a lot of material for a one week course, but I felt that I was able to retain a good portion. So, I have used ATA for several bootcamps and they have all been great. All the instructors I have had have been excellent. The staff is helpful and responsive. I have asked if a class could record sessions for me and they have reached out to the professor to get that done. I can't wait for their new AWS offerings.
