How to get your EDD Form 704, step by step

Form 704 is the approval the EDD Virtual Education Center issues once your funding request is approved. It is what authorizes Applied Technology Academy to bill EDD for your seat, and we cannot enrol you against EDD without it.

How to get your EDD Form 704, step by step

The Virtual Education Center is where EDD lives. Six steps from signing in to sending us the Form 704 that lets us bill EDD for your seat.

  1. Sign in to the Virtual Education Center
Go to edd.dma.myflorida.com and sign in with your CAC. The VEC is where every EDD education goal and funding request lives.
  2. Set or confirm your education goal
Choose the certification you are pursuing. A funding request has to sit under an approved education goal, so set the goal first if this is your first request.
  3. Create a funding request for your class dates
Enter the course, the school (Applied Technology Academy) and the exact class start and end dates. Submit up to 60 days before class starts — earlier is safer than later.
  4. Wait for approval and download Form 704
EDD usually decides in 5–7 business days. On approval the VEC issues a Form 704, the document that authorizes us to bill EDD for your seat.
  5. Email Form 704 to ATA before class
Send it to your EDD Student Coordinator. Without the 704 on file we cannot bill EDD, and your seat is not secured.
  6. Train, then report your exam result
We bill EDD directly. After class, sit your exam and send us the result — a passed certification keeps your next EDD funding request moving.

Timing

When to submit

EDD accepts a funding request up to 60 days before class starts, and approval usually takes 5 to 7 business days. Submitting at least two weeks out leaves room for a question to come back at you without putting your seat at risk.

A request names specific class dates, so pick your class first. Our upcoming schedule shows which classes are inside the window right now.

What we need

What to send us, and when

Email your Form 704 to our EDD Student Coordinator as soon as the VEC issues it. Until it reaches us your seat is not secured against EDD funding.

If you need an itemized quote for the request itself, ask us before you submit — we will send the course, the dates and the price in the form the VEC expects.

After class

Reporting your result

We bill EDD directly, so there is nothing for you to pay or claim back. After class, sit your exam and send us the result. A passed certification is what keeps your next EDD funding request moving.
